Panama, November 26, 2023 – Cobre Panama deeply regrets the illegal attack that occurred this morning involving acts of vandalism and violence against one of our contractors and its personnel that provides transportation services to our collaborators from Cobre Panama to Penonome.

Fortunately, the affected employee is in stable condition and is receiving medical attention and emotional support.

The safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, communities and suppliers are our top priority. We are cooperating with local authorities and will provide our full assistance in their ongoing investigations.

We are deeply concerned about these illegal actions and call for respect for law and order.

Cobre Panama strongly condemns any form of violence or unlawful behavior. We respect the right to peaceful and lawful protest, and call for a calm and respectful environment in which the parties can interact constructively.
